9. The Faroe Islands Denmark
Between Norway and Iceland, there is an oasis of absolute beauty and calmness, which we know as the Faroe Islands – an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark.
Apart from their very interesting history, the Faroe Islands have something to offer to every traveler. The country consists of 18 major islands, which might lack trees, but they have other natural gifts to offer which will not disappoint.
There, you can find amazing cliffs, which are carved from the north Atlantic’s strong swells and they level off into green meadows. The natural vegetation of the Faroe Islands is dominated by Arctic-alpine plants, wildflowers, grasses, moss, and lichen. Almost all the houses there are colorful, and the fact that you can see them swim in and out of the clouds makes the whole scenery like something out of a dark fairytale.
